Alvaro Cassinelli

I don’t know why, but I need this in my life so bad. Personally I love the works of Alvaro Cassinelli who currently works as an Assistant Professor at the The University of Tokyo. But enough with the bio, lets just watch some awesome projects.

Here is a selection of projects that tickled my imagination:
“The Smart Laser Prokector in vector graphics mode is capable of detecting the color of the surface under illumination as well as the angles at the interface between different colors regions. We can then simulate the Snell Law of refraction (geometrical optics) which is what you see in this video.”

A simple Processing patch using blob detection and a midi output, I love the visuals.

“Video explaining the concept behind the Khronos Projector installation. For more: http://www.k2.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp/members/alvaro/Khronos/

And last but not least, turning your banana’s into a telephone, because there’s always money in a banana stand.
